On May 8, 2012, KCB Bank Burundi Ltd was officially launched by His Excellency the President of Burundi Pierre Nkurunziza at Boulevard Patrice Lumumba. Also present were former KCB Group Chairman Peter W. Muthoka and KCB Burundi ADG Gloria Nyambok.

With an investment of around 10 million USD, KCB Burundi began operations with a centrally-located branch and two ATM QuickServe machines. With the opening of the Burundi branch, KCB made history as the first local bank to have a complete presence in all the countries that make up the East African Community.

Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Identify and attract the new loans and deposits to the branch through a well-prepared sales plan in order to reinforce sales strategy.

    • Initiate credit facility in order to recommend the approval through in death quality preliminary analysis. 

    • Process credit application within stipulate TAT in order to increase customer certification level. 

    • Check the Authentication on Products Applications in the System to Ensure KYC and AML

    • Monitoring loan facilities in order to insure minimum portfolio at risk. 

    • Monitor accounts in order to minimize the dormancy rate and Overdrawn accounts

    • Resolve retail business customer inquire in order to improve customer satisfaction

    • Prepare daily/weekly sales report, Monthly portfolio report

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in a business-related field.

  • Minimum of 3 (three) year’s banking experience in Loans and Customer Relationship Management.

  • Strong leadership competencies.

  • Excellent planning, organizing, problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to establish new client relationships and generate new business.

  • A good understanding of strong risk management practices paying particular attention to business, operational, reputational, compliance and ethical risks.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Excellent analytical and forecasting skills; must also have strong attention to detail.

  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated competencies in championing high performance.
